I just got back from a conference with 1000 gym owners and coaches.

We had presentations on program design, class flow, movement virtuosity, marketing, retention systems, operations.

I even had an opportunity to get on stage and present about the Prescriptive Model of fitness coaching and how it’s the most important thing in empowering clients to live lives they love for as long as they can.

Each one was massively impactful, tremendously important, and could absolutely change the trajectory of someone’s business—and life.

But here’s the truth:

– None of it matters if we don’t do anything with it.
That’s why the final talk was, without question, the most important one of the entire weekend.

Nick Habich, a good friend of mine and owner of Shark Bite Fitness in Cape Coral, Florida got up to remind us that “everything you want is on the other side of discomfort.”

While everyone else showed us how, Nick reminded us why we haven’t yet.

Most people think success is about talent, luck, or timing.

It’s not.

It’s about doing the thing you don’t want to do—the thing you’re avoiding, resisting, or complaining about.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth:

If you don’t do the hard thing, you don’t get to complain about not having the result you want.

Want a stronger body?

Don’t skip days in the gym.

Want more revenue?

Start having hard conversations.

Want deeper connection?

Show up with vulnerability.

Want freedom?

Make the sacrifices no one sees.

The magic? It’s not in the tactics.

It’s in the action.

It’s in the leap across the chasm of discomfort.

So stop waiting to feel ready.

Stop complaining about what you haven’t earned yet.

And start doing the thing that actually matters.
