The best gift you can give to your loved ones (and to yourself) is to live a long and capable life.
And the absolute, bar none, best way to do that, is through consistency in fitness and nutrition.
Bear that in mind this holiday season.
If you find yourself in a financial or bandwidth budgetary squeeze due to the giving season, remember that your health and wellness is vastly more impactful than anything you can wrap in a box.
Why do I bring this up?
Well, 13 years of Decembers as a gym owner has told me that, inevitably, a handful of people will put their memberships on hold around mid December.
Still more will put their start dates on hold until next year (which very often never happens).
Here’s the unfortunate truth.
The next time I see those people is usually in the grocery store 8 months later when they tell me, “I really need to get back in there! I’ve never been in better shape than when I was in that gym!”
And yet, due to their interruption in momentum, a seemingly innocent savings during a tight time of year, they’ve set themselves off the path in a very significant way.
So this season, stick with it (or start with it).
And let’s be honest, no one is going to remember the money you spent on them in a decade or two, but they’ll have a daily reminder of your fitness, health and wellness.
