Jennie Cooper walked into SSC already able to do butterfly pull-ups, which Kenny found suspicious. Turns out she had good reason — MIT mechanical engineering degree, nine years in the Marine Corps including flying casualty evacuation helicopters in Iraq, a stint supervising drill instructors at Parris Island, a master’s in exercise science, and a PhD in human physiology from Oregon.
She also quit a government consulting job in DC to coach at Gold’s Gym for minimum wage because she believed in it that much.
