I lay awake at night thinking about you…

I lay awake at night thinking about you.

Well, maybe not you specifically.  (At least not this time.)

But even after 12 years of this, I legitimately lay awake at night thinking about the people I haven’t seen in the gym recently.

I wonder where they’ve been.  If they’re ok.  If they’re still on the path to the goals that they’ve committed to.  If they need a nudge or some encouragement.

And so does every one of the staff here at Sandpoint Strength.

We text each other about you (again, maybe not you).  But we ask each other, “hey, do you know where so and so has been?”

Sometimes it’s a clear answer.  Maybe that person has been on vacation or sick.

Other times, it’s not.  So we call or text, or threaten to kidnap.

What’s the point?

The point is that our level of care is wildly out of character for a gym.

99% of gyms hope that you sign up and never show up again, attempting to charge you just enough every month so that you won’t notice it.

They’ll call you if your payment doesn’t go through, but that’s it.

No shame on them, that’s their business model.

Our members actually use our gym.  We make sure that it happens.

And if, in the case that we lose a member, we talk about what happened at our monthly staff meetings.  We try to identify what went wrong and how we could have helped them better in hopes that we can help current and future members from quitting on their goals.

Everyone needs accountability, support and encouragement.  Everyone strays from the path every so often.

Everyone needs someone (or a team of people) in their corner to help them get back on that path when they stray.

If you’re missing that in your life, it’s probably time to find a gym that cares as much about you as we do.
