Crystal Baines walked into SSC eight years ago as a newly single mom of five, working full time, broke, and so out of shape that Kenny ran around the block with her just to make sure she’d be okay. She had severe asthma. She couldn’t squat to the ground. She couldn’t jump rope.
Today she’s down nearly 100 pounds, has gained muscle in the process, and coaches the same people who remind her of where she started.
This conversation covers what it actually looks like to build fitness over years instead of weeks, why nutrition was the missing piece after eight years of showing up, and what it felt like to cry on the gym floor and have a member sit down and cry with her.
If you think you’re too far behind to start — Crystal’s story is for you.
