ChaosChaos

In times of chaos, the solution to your anxiety is turning to things you can control.

I’m not a therapist, but sometimes I play one on a whiteboard.

We often try to seek calm and reassurance through:

  • Checking our news feeds
  • Eating things that give us a dopamine rush
  • Drinking things that turn off our lizard brains
  • Seeking comfort by not getting out of bed

Unfortunately, usually the exact opposite happens.

Instead, turn to yourself and the body that you possess.

Within that, you are able to move, progress and turn off the external noise.

I haven’t met or witnessed anyone who hasn’t felt more calm and peaceful after a good workout.

You can feel things that matter, that you’ll never lose control of and that are much less likely to be taken from you.

So if you’re stressed out by the news, unsteady financial markets, PTSD from COVID 5 years ago or personal issues in your own life, make yourself workout.

You’ll feel 100x more calm when all you have to focus on is that next repetition, that next stride or that next stupid burpee.

And you’ll be making progress in an investment that is really the only one that matters because it’s the first line of offense against everything else.
